As for stud agreements: stud fee is $2,000 for a guaranteed minimum of FIVE puppies. If your bitch has a smaller litter, the rate will be pro-rated to a lesser amount (I don't think full stud-fees for two puppies is fair so a pro-rated amount is much easier for the bitch-owner). For example: if your girl had three puppies, the pro-rated amount is $1,200 ($400 per puppy). If your girl has 10 puppies, the stud fee is $2,000 - nothing more. This way, no matter what happens, it works in your favor. :)

I request a stud-deposit of $400 in advance to help cover my expenses (time off work to prepare the semen collection, shipment, arranging transport, etc) which is 100% applied to your stud-fee (and covers my personal expenses for TWO breeding attempts). The expenses of semen collection, preparation, shipment box and semen extender, transportation, and insemination/blood testing of your female for breeding is your responsiblity. From past experience, I know the extender and transport kit is $150, collection and processing of semen is $150.00 ($149.78 to be exact) and shipment using FedEx overnight priority is around $60-$100 (depending on the weight of the box - shipping to the USA usually runs about $90) which can be paid directly using a FedEx account number or credit card.

So - you'd send a cheque for $700.00. $300 covers all vet expenses, $400 is to cover incidentals (I travel with work so I change my work schedule to stay home when your girl is in season - I am at YOUR call 24-7). If after the first breeding your girl does not become pregnant, you can re-breed during a following season (I normally suggest within two years... studs are only viable until the age of 8-9 years old and will keep you posted on my stud viability if you are delaying your repeat breeding... but I'm very flexible. I want you to rebreed, if you choose to do so, when it works best for your shedule, and what is best for your girl) with an additional payment of $300 for the vet expenses only (I don't get this money - I pay the vets) and the shipping. If your girl does not become pregnant after the second attempt, the contract is considered filled (BUT - I am a person of reason. IF something happened in the first two breedings and you'd like a third try, as long as it is a reasonable request and we believe a third breeding WILL work - I will go ahead without an additional fee. I WANT your girl to get pregnant). :)

If during the first breeding your girl has a single puppy - I will sign the registration papers with no additonal payment required. If on the second breeding she has another single puppy, I will sign the papers with no addtional payment required.
